Temporary Hotmail and Outlook
If you’re looking for a temporary Hotmail or Outlook, you need an email to sign up without giving out yours. Microsoft has no throwaway addresses, but there’s a quicker way to get one.

Is there such a thing as a temporary Hotmail?
No. A @hotmail.com or @outlook.com address is a Microsoft account: it asks for your details, a phone number and a password, and it stays forever.
Making one just for a sign-up takes time, and then you have yet another inbox filling up with ads.
What about an Outlook or Hotmail alias?
Outlook lets you add extra addresses to your account, but they’re still yours: the site knows who it’s writing to and the ads end up in your usual inbox.
They help you sort your mail, not keep your address to yourself.
Outlook alias or temporary email
| Outlook alias | Temporary email | |
|---|---|---|
| Hides your real address | No | Yes |
| Needs an account | Yes, your Microsoft one | No |
| Ads reach your inbox | Yes | No |
| How long it lasts | Forever | 60 minutes, renewable |
The quick way: a temporary email
A temporary email gives you a new address the moment you open the page, with no account or password. Your code or confirmation link arrives and, when you no longer need it, it disappears with its messages.
Your Hotmail or Outlook stays clean for what really matters.
